Rural Retention and Financial Incentives
Interior Health is one of six health authorities in B.C. With an annual budget of $1.2 billion, they provide full spectrum health care services to a population of over 700,000. Physicians with Interior Health recieve some of the highest levels of remuneration for health care professionals in Canada and many qualify for BC's highly competitive 'on-call' program.
Doctors in Osoyoos and Oliver also qualify for rurual recruitment and retention incentives in addition to a generous relocation allowance.
Provincial Nominee Program for Physicians
The B.C. Provincial Nominee Program is now available to assist eligible foreign physicians to obtain permanent resident status in an expedited manner. Nearest Hospitals
Our community hospital is in Oliver, 20 minutes from Osoyoos, with 20 acute care beds and a busy ER. This hospital provides a lab, x-ray facilities, outpatient care, and more.
The regional Penticton Hospital, just 30 minutes from Oliver, provides ultrasound, CT, MRI, and a variety of core specialties including Orthopedics, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry. Kelowna General is our tertiary referral hospital, with cardiology, vascular, and neurosurgery.
Location and nearest airports?
Both communities are close to Penticton and Kelowna International Airports which offer regular chartered air service to and from Vancouver and Calgary, with connecting flights to all Canadian and international destinations.
Osoyoos is located 2 km from the U.S. border at the junction of Highway 97, a vital connection that stretches from California to Alaska, and Highway 3, the southern trans-provincial which connects Southern Alberta to the Okanagan Valley, and Vancouver.
